Position Updates from RecovR to John Deere

Written by RecovR

Overview of Position Updates

Once you've completed the setup to integrate RecovR with John Deere Operations center, any time an equipment has a GPS position update in RecovR, that GPS position will immediately update the current position of the equipment in John Deere. Please note that while the position is pushed immediately, you should allow a few minutes for the John Deere system to process the position updates and you may need to refresh your screen in Operations Center to see the update.

Exception for JD Link Equipment

For equipment that is connected to a JD Link modem, the modem position will take priority over the RecovR position data. Therefore, the position from RecovR will not be visible in the John Deere Operations Center UI. We are working with the John Deere team to try to be able to update the position of modem equipment in the event of theft and will provide any updates to the behavior in this guide.

You can check whether or not an equipment is connected to a modem from the RecovR UI in the Integration Status card at the bottom of the equipment details screen.

Troubleshooting for Transferred Equipment

If equipment has been transferred to your organization, all admin rights must have been transferred with the equipment in order for RecovR to have access to update the equipment's position.

If you are not receiving position updates for transferred equipment, the easiest option is to remake the equipment in your inventory to ensure your organization has all admin rights to the equipment.
